MY INHERITANCE

The Friday Fictioneers challenge was to write a 100 word story about this picture. Here is my story.  Enjoy.

“Hey Jeb. Whatcha got there?

“Found this in my Mom’s House.”

“A jar of batteries?”

“Yep.”

“Are they any good?”

“I have no idea. I doubt it.”

“Why would she keep a jar full of dead batteries?”

“Don’t know. Sure can’t ask her now.

“Guess you’ll just throw them away? ”

“Naw. Guess, I’ll keep ‘em. You never know when you might need a jar of dead batteries.”

A Late Friday Fictioneers

After a challenge from Shirley McCann on Saturday to write 100 words about this picture  I decided to try my first Friday Fictioneer story.

Dear Lord:
Please bring her home safe. The weather is so bad. Rain, sleet and snow. She’s been driving for hours and I know she is tired. I’m so afraid but I know you will watch over her. It’s been so long since I’ve seen her. So much could happen to a young woman alone on the roads tonight but please keep your hand on her Lord and bring her home safe, Father. This is a grandmother's mother’s plea.

Oh, I see her headlights in the window. Thank you God for answered prayer for my granddaughter’s safe trip home.

PEACE

This is my first blog after a long absence due to chronic migraine. My neurologist has changed my medicine so I have been reborn from a zombie to possibly being able to think beyond the next moment.

No matter who you voted for, we know there is change coming. America is not the same. The country is deeply in debt. People feel discouraged not knowing what the future holds.

I teach a Bible Study Class of adults. I was startled to study this week’s lesson “Living in Truth.” We haven’t heard much truth during the past weeks of election campaigning. We long for truth. Just tell us what is true, so we can vote for the right man or woman. We knew what we wanted; we just didn’t know which candidate would give us what the country needed. Well, the election is over. We have the candidates that will rule our Country, State, and counties in the future. Still people don’t know which way to turn, how to plan for their future. What about their health care? Should they change their investment portfolio? What about their job? What will happen to our country?

I don’t know the answers to those questions. I only know one thing. God is in control. He made the world. He knows what is happening in the world. I trust Him. I gave my life to Him many years ago. He saved me and promised me a home in heaven when I die. I trust and believe what he said because it is in His Word, the Bible. I will not worry about tomorrow or next week or next year. I will pray to my Father in Heaven for His Will to be done. He cares about us and when we trust Him for all our tomorrows, he will take care of us. “Casting all your cares upon Him for he cares for you.(1 Peter 5:7)”
